WHO WE
ARE

On January 1, 2026, the Presbytery of Mountain Laurel was born — not as a bureaucratic reorganization, but as an act of faith.

The mountain laurel itself tells our story. While it’s Pennsylvania's state flower, it grows everywhere in the region we call home — on rocky hillsides and in sheltered valleys, in places where survival requires deep roots and quiet resilience. It blooms with unexpected beauty in the most rugged landscapes. It is native to this land. It belongs here.

So do we.

Mountain Laurel Presbytery is not simply a merger of two institutions, Lehigh Presbytery and Lackawanna Presbytery. It is the emergence of something genuinely new — a community shaped by shared geography, shared diversity, and shared calling. We are rural and suburban and urban. We are mountains and valleys and waterways. We are many cultures, many languages, many ways of understanding and expressing faith.

And we are better together.
